Creative director and copywriter based in Red Hook Brooklyn available for freelance or staff position.
A bit about me
I am a New York-based writer with hard-earned experience working on many large, demanding, globally-recognized brands like Lexus, Acura, Honda, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, American Express, Indian Motorcycles, Seagram’s and ABC News.
As a huge fan of the increasingly lost art of actual advertising writing, I love a well-crafted long-form piece as much as a pithy three-word headline. Both of which I happen to be quite adept at.
I have plied my trade in both New York and Los Angeles at top agencies including Team One, RPA, Ogilvy and Mather, Merkley and Partners and Deutsch. My work has been recognized by The One Show, Communication Arts, The Effies, etc. I’ve even won an Emmy for my ad writing.
Work
Most of my commercials are for cars. But that’s actually perfect preparation for writing about anything. Because here’s the thing - car ads are never actually about cars. They’re about freedom, status, romance, escape. The car is just the canvas. So when you spend years writing automotive campaigns, you learn the real art: translating human desires into whatever object, service, or idea you’re selling. What matters is understanding that desire and giving people permission to feel it.
